Major progress in the construction of the Gesmold solar park - a flagship project for sustainable energy generation in industry

The construction of the Gesmold solar park is making great progress. The project, which was launched back in March this year with promising prospects, has now reached a significant construction phase, with 70% of the modules already installed.

There are currently around 22 skilled workers on site, installing around 1000-1500 solar modules every day. This remarkable achievement underlines the efficiency and commitment of all those involved as well as the good organization and implementation by the project developer JUWI, a specialist in renewable energies.

The construction progress already made brings SPIES Packaging a big step closer to its goal of creating an even more sustainable future. The Gesmold solar park, which is being built on an area of around 10 hectares, is set to produce around 10 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year once it is completed this year. Around 70-80 percent of the electricity generated is intended for the company's own use and will be supplied to the production plant via a direct line. The additional electricity produced will be fed into the public grid and contribute to the regional green electricity supply.

"We are proud of the progress that has been made so far and grateful for the great work of everyone involved on and off site," says Christof Spies, Managing Director at SPIES Packaging. "This project is a core part of our sustainability strategy and reflects our commitment to combining economic goals with environmental responsibilities."
