SPIES Sustainability Report 2024

For SPIES, sustainability means achieving balance - with our environment, our employees and all other stakeholders. Our vision of sustainability is based on the well-known three pillars - economy, ecology and social affairs - which harmonize in their interaction with each other. Therefore we pursue the goals of these three perspectives in equal measure, mastering the challenges of tomorrow and securing the future.

SPIES has selected Option B for its 2024 Sustainability Report, meaning that it will report on the basis of the basic module and the supplementary module of the VSME standard. The decision to use this extended reporting format ensures that, in addition to the basic disclosure require-ments, more in-depth and comprehensive aspects of sustainability performance are also taken into ac-count. This enables a highly transparent and holistic presentation of the company’s environmental, social and governance-related development. 

This sustainability report provides a clear overview of the progress we have made, the challenges we face and our goals, demonstrating how we continue to pursue our path with determination: with clear values, a responsible vision for the future and a firm conviction that sustainability is the foundation for our long-term success.

SPIES pursues a holistic sustainability strategy. In terms of climate protection, the company relies on an ISO 50001–certified energy management system, CO₂ footprint calculations across all scopes, and efficiency measures with the aim of achieving climate-neutral production in Scopes 1 and 2. Circular economy principles are strengthened through recyclable mono-material packaging, reusable solutions, and the internal reuse of materials. Product design focuses on resource efficiency, high quality, and sustainable innovation. At the same time, SPIES takes responsibility for its employees and society through occupational safety, health programs, professional development, and strong regional engagement.
