The speedy, flexible and absolutely reliable availability of goods is more important than ever in times of individualised consumer markets. The logistics processes which ensure that this is achieved are extremely complex and highly demanding. In order to provide yet more flexibility and security at the same time, against this backdrop, Spies Kunststoffe is currently investing in the construction of a further high-rack warehouse that is yet to find its match: 138 meters long, 30 meters high and 30 meters wide, packed with intelligent software for fully-automated processes from goods entry to preparation for despatch. It provides sufficient space for the storage and delivery of a wealth of items. “With the new high-rack warehouse we optimise the ever increasing demand for just-in-time orders once again whilst providing considerably more capacity”, enthuses Christof Spies, Managing Director. The new high-rack warehouse, which will be brought into operation in early summer 2018 within the framework of the commissioning of the new Production Plant III, represents the company's philosophy of meeting customer demands ever better through regular investments, an established tradition of the 1964-founded family-run enterprise.
