In 2019, SPIES received the ISCC PLUS certificate for the first time as one of the first in the industry. With this certificate, the responsible handling of fossil raw materials is now certified again.
By complying with and fulfilling all requirements, this year the certificate was again awarded to SPIES Packaging. With this certificate SPIES proves that bio-based plastics are used and that they are produced from controlled bio-oil - not from fossil crude oil. The focus here is on saving fossil raw materials. A big step towards #circulareconomy is also the use of already used plastics, including packaging, from which the oil for plastic production is recovered again by means of pyrolysis.
